Description
This original Harmensz van Rijn Rembrandt etching is titled "Joseph's Coat Brought to
Jacob" This is from a later edition, but printed from
Rembrandt's plate about 1816 and not by him or in his lifetime.
(original c 1633 ref. B. Holl. 38 H 104 BB 38-1). The piece displays a signature at the bottom right Rembrandt / van Rijn fe. There were
other copies made of this etching by different artists with additional window
panes put in the copies, this does not have those. The margins have been trimmed
down near the image by about 1/8 inch and the print measures by about 4" by
3-1/2 inches image area. The way this was framed was to have the trimmed etching
"floated" as shown. I had a difficult time photographing this due to light
reflection, as you can see. Paperwork is attached to the back of the dust cover
as shown. This item is in very good condition and is framed as shown,
ready to hang. If any questions, please ask. For now, sales only inside the USA.
