Here are two original Piranesi etchings available which were obtained by the owner John Anthony Miller in 1987. Both etchings are framed and have rag backs. Each etching features a letter from
Butterfield & Butterfield which is held in an envelope on the back of the dust cover of
each stating the 1986 value of each was approximately $300 dollars at that time. The novelty regarding these etchings that makes them a rare find is that these are small
Piranesi's, each measuring 10-1/4 inches across each image in the largest
dimension. Usually Piranesi intaglios are rather large. Both are views of Rome and the works are in Very Good condition.
